Chevelo Farm is located in between Marshalton and Unionville, in Chester County, PA, about 45 minutes west of Philadelphia. The name Chevelo combines the passions of owners, Carolyn Worthington and her husband, David Chauner: horses and bicycles. “Cheval” in French is horse and “Velo” is bicycle. Carolyn has been involved in the horse world for over 25 years.
HORSES
Chevelo Farm offers boarding, short term layups and retirement opportunities for show horses and race horses.
LOCAL PRODUCE SUPPLIER TO RESTAURANTS
During the growing season, Chevelo Farm also sells produce to select restaurants. Worthington studied cooking in France followed by a career in the food and television world . With an interest in the Buy Fresh/Buy Local campaign, Worthington began selling vegetables to local restaurants two years ago. “We are very much a part of the local mission to help preserve the land and to do our part to keep farming alive – be it as a boutique farm raising vegetables for small restaurants or helping horses find new careers.”
